I starter as a
child. I couldn’t be in any other way, as my family has a long
tradition of naturalists.
But I did more, it
was a choice for life. I remember the first workcamps with the World
Wide Fund and the Italian Ligue for the Protection of Birds, the
nights and days I spent checking the eagles’ nests or the fire
preventing duties. My passion is to discover nature; my studies and
field research dedicated to flora and fauna and especially to birds,
orchids and butterflies. I have travelled in many countries, staying
there where my study interests were greatest, experiencing and
learning a great deal. So my choice for life became a profession. I
cooperated with Regione Lazio as a teacher of vocational training
for technicians of the nature reserves and parks. For the WWF
reserves in Italy I looked after the setting up of nature paths,
fauna areas (especially insects), botanic gardens and routes for
blind and handicapped persons. I participated in scientific missions
in Europe, Asia, Africa and North and South America. I am a
consultant for several Italian nature organizations, the Corpo
Forestale dello Stato (National Forest Guard), national parks and
nature reserves and I contribute photographs for worldwide
publications. I have been a nature guide for public and private
bodies accompanying groups and schoolchildren in the whole of Italy
since 1979. Adventure is of prime importance to the nature lover and
it’s my lifeblood, the culmination of years of work, enthusiasm,
competence, passion that I put at everyone’s disposal. |
