Birders almost since born. He wrote c250 publications for Italian and worldwide magazines (Birding World, Dutch Birding, Alula, Birdwatch, Ornithos etc.), he also cooperated to many birds books and is working himself to 4 different books. His works concern mainly the field identification of difficult birds species, but also taxonomy, migration (mainly of raptors) and many other aspects of ornithology. He collaborated to tens of national/international projects. Since 10 years he organizes the Strait of Messina international survey on raptors migration (being also the main counter and counting scientific supervisor). Naturalistic professional guide, he leaded numerous birders groups over Western Palearctic. He found many new bird species for Sicily and Italy but also for other nation such as Cyprus, Israel and so on. He is the country top lister for Italy and the WP, and he also has the year record list (318 on 2000). He knows capillary the regional territory.
Fees: 1-2 persons 65 Euro daily
The guided excursions are done all the year round and in the whole Sicily under pre-booking, at least 2 days earlier, by e-mail or telephone call. For excursions in East Sicily is it possible to book also just the day before. It is possible to booking guided excursions of 1 day up to 1 week or more. The guiding service include: a printed complete check-list of Sicilian birds and a field notebook, visit and guiding to the various sites of birding and naturalistic interest, finding and showing all the birds species present (and the other interesting animals and plants) but also information of the restaurants and café where have the best typical local dishes at the cheapest prize, indication where sleep, etc. This comprehend the above mentioned services and have to be paid via bank account or in current money, at the moment of the start of the service. It is not inclusive of gasoline, food, housing, extras, assurance. For the excursions up to 5 days, it is inclusive of gasoline expenses and the use of a car or a van depending on number of people.
